Increasingly many studies attest its quality for the prevention of many diseases. Despite the promising results of previous studies, the role of this type of tea in cancer prevention is not clear yet.

A new study of the international organization Cochrane Collaboration analyzed the role of green tea in cancer prevention and has made contradictory results.

Researchers analyzed the results of the 51 studies that included more than 1.6 million participants, studies based on the connection between green tea consumption and occurrence of different types of cancer, such as breastfeed, lungs, digestive tract, and oral cancer.

Studies were conducted in 1985-2008 period and most have occurred in Asia, where they consume the largest quantity of tea, according to the publication ScienceDaily.

Green tea helps to get rid of extra kilograms. Studies made in laboratory on guinea pigs showed that green tea blocks the assimilation of fats and keeps away the kilograms.

It also reduces risk of heart attacks. Three cups of tea drunk every day lowers the risk of heart attacks by up to 70%, specialists believe. Dr. Carrie Ruxton, a member of the Tea Advisory Panel is of the opinion that this tea can prevent inflammation, reducing the risk of thrombosis.
