Nowadays, there is a term known as self healing. There are several ways of self healing and most of them are using relaxation process. One of self healing programs commonly known is Holotropic Breathwork. Probably, this approach is still strange for some of you. Actually, Holotropic Breathwork approach is an approach which includes several field studies and it is used for self exploration and self healing. The examples of the field study are consciousness research, spiritual practice, and mystical tradition.

The Steps to Do Holotropic Breathwork

This program can be done individually or in a group. Mostly, Holotropic Breathwork is done in a group. The first step to do this Holotropic Breathwork program is closing your eye and lying on a mat. Then, you have to concentrate on the music playing on the session. The purpose of these two activities is to guide your body and mind into an extraordinary consciousness.

4 Experiences of Holotropic Breathwork

Some people who already done this program claimed that they feel different experiences. But there are 4 main categories of experience you can feel after taking this program. First is sensory and somatic in which people were felt that they could visualize images or specific patterns and even they can dance and move. Second experience is biographical and individual unconscious in which by taking this process they can repress their trauma. Third experience is perinatal and it reduces the trauma from a birth. The fourth common experience is transpersonal which you can feel your past memories.

Mandala Drawing in Holotropic Breathwork

One of the processes on this session is drawing mandala. The drawing process is done after the whole session. Actually, mandala is also known as the representation of their experience. When the session is done and mandala has been perfectly drawn there will be one more session. This is the session which you and the practitioner discuss about your Holotropic Breathwork mandala and your experience during the process.
